KuPP Shortlisted for Casual Dining Restaurant and Pub Awards 2018
The results are in and KuPP has been shortlisted in no less than three categories at the Casual Dining Restaurant and Pub Awards 2018. KuPP were successful at the 2017 Casual Dining Restaurant and Pub Awards where they scooped the Menu Innovation Award for their Nordic inspired menu.
It has been a busy month for the brand who won Best All Day Menu at the Eat Out Awards earlier this month and have been shortlisted for Food, Beverage or Leisure Operator of the Year at the prestigious Revo Gold Awards taking place in early December.
KuPP has been shortlisted in the Best New Restaurant Site category for their Oxford venue which opened on the rooftop of John Lewis in the brand new Westgate development in early October. Partnering with John Lewis, KuPP has signed on to a standalone lease rather than taking a concession which is a first for both brands. There is natural synergy in this partnership with John Lewis having championed Scandinavian design for many years and KuPP’s Nordic inspired casual dining concept.
Making the decision to partner with KuPP is in line with the much publicised aim of John Lewis MD, Paula Nickolds, to place a renewed focus on “experience” and increasing dwell time in their stores. Improving their food and beverage options to include KuPP on their rooftop was pivotal in providing their Oxford customers with the best experience possible. Bookings for KuPP Oxford can be made via the first ever John Lewis Experience Desk, offering shoppers a welcome respite in the rooftop café, bar and restaurant.
KuPP’s Southampton venue which opened in Westquay in July this year has been shortlisted in the Best Designed Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year category which was entered into by Jones Architecture and Design. This was the first KuPP venue designed by Jones AD who have signed on for another KuPP venue planned to open in 2018.
The KuPP brand as a whole has been shortlisted for Independent Restaurant of the Year alongside stiff competition that includes Alston Bar & Beef, Arepa and Co and Framptons Café Bar and Kitchen. A relatively young brand, having launched their first venue in London’s Merchant Square in 2015, KuPP has made an impressive start when it comes to industry awards which points to a bright future ahead with a string of sites planned to open in 2018.
Steve Cox, Managing Director of KuPP, said: “It has been an extremely busy year for us and it is tremendously exciting to have been shortlisted in categories that specifically highlight the new venues that we opened in Southampton and Oxford as well as the KuPP brand as a whole. We have really enjoyed working so closely with both Jones AD and John Lewis this year and look forward to working with them again in the future.
None of this would ever be possible without the amazing people involved and I am immensely proud of the entire KuPP Team. They have done a fantastic job over the last year and the fact that KuPP has been shortlisted for these awards is a real testament to that.
I feel confident looking forward to our expansion plans for 2018 knowing that I have the support of such a great team who are as passionate about the KuPP brand as I am. As we like to say, KuPP is all that we love. Shared.”
